AWARENESS RAISING ON WILLOWS

The aim of the field day was to raise awareness about Willows in the catchment, the problems that they can cause and what landowners can do about it.

Presentations by Kiowa Fenner from the Dapretment of Primary Industries and Water, as well as from Greg Taylor from Cradle Coast NRM, informed a group of local landowners about these issues.

A tour of the catchment to demonstrate a number of sites where Willows had been removed as well as where Willows were still growing, was rounded off with afternoon tea and a chance to talk to MRRCI committee members.
