Membership
Reason for
policy
Mount Roland
Rivercare Catchment Incorporated (MRRCI) relies for its long-term
sustainability on support from other organisations, from the community
as a whole, and especially from its members. Consequently, it is
in the group's interests to maintain and increase membership levels.
Currently there
are only two types of member recognised under the constitution -individuals
and life members (who are also individuals). We already have our
first institutional member (Sheffield District High School), and
there is potential to recruit members in other categories.
Membership fee for all member categories is determined on an annual
basis by the Committee.
Adoption of
this policy will require amendments to the Constitution, which must
be ratified at a General Meeting (Annual or Special)

Membership
Policy statement
Mount Roland
Rivercare Catchment Incorporated welcomes all interested individuals
and organisations as members. To make membership of the organisation
flexible and appealing, a number of membership categories have been
created.
Categories
of member (all on payment of the appropriate membership fee)
- Individual
member
Any resident
or land manager in the catchment area. Individual members can
nominate for positions on the Committee, vote in elections for
Committee members, have first priority for support with work
in the riparian zone and have full access to MRRCI's resources.
Family member
As for
individual members, but the annual fee will offer Family members
a discount on the individual membership fee.
- Associate
member
Any individual
with an interest in the objectives of the organisation. Need
not live or work in the catchment area. Does not have voting
rights, support for work in the riparian zone, or access to
other resources of the organisation.
- Life
member
Any member
whom the Association may desire to honour (enjoys the same membership
privileges as an individual member).
- Institutional
member
Any organisation
with an interest in the objectives of the organisation. Institutional
members with a property in the catchment area enjoy the privileges
of a full member; others have the privileges of an associate
member.
